Ernestine Gunter

Ernestine “Ernie” Marshall Gunter, age 93, of Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence and Rev. Phillip Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Gunter was born July 6, 1922, in Grayson County, VA, to the late Earnest and Pearl Mabe Marshall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Lewis Gunter; son-in-law, Terry Campbell; and daughter-in-law, Sherry H. Gunter. She worked as an administrative assistant for Seth Lumber Company.
She is survived by two sons, Marshall Gunter of Lincolnton, and Neal Gunter, and wife Wendy, of Cherryville; two daughters, Elaine Gunter Campbell, and Sara Gunter Hovis, and husband Jeff, all of Lincolnton; one sister, Mary M. Finger of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Joshua Campbell, and wife Sarah, Brady L. Gunter, and Kristin Todd, Ryan Gunter, and wife Brittany, Nicholas G. Gunter, and Brooke Norman, Chad Campbell, and wife Elizabeth, Adam Gunter, and wife Lindsey, Matthew Hovis, and wife Joanna; and great-grandchildren, Emmaline and Addison Campbell, Thomas Gunter, Austin Gunter, and Maddox Hovis.
