Peggy Harvey Carswell
( April 12, 1930 - April 1, 2016 )
Mrs. Peggy Harvey Carswell died Friday, April 1, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vida and Lore Harvey and her brother Frank Harvey.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday April 3, 2016, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Peggy was born April 12, 1930, in Cherryville and raised in the Crouse community. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved knitting and cooking. Peggy wore many hats during her life. She worked for the FBI, Duke Power and Burris Industries and retired from Lincoln County Schools after being a teacher’s aide for 10 years.
This is Peggy’s favorite time of year. She loved spring flowers and watching birds out of her back window.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband, Jack E. Carswell of the home; daughter, Susan Schwarz and husband John of Greensboro; son Tim Carswell of Lincolnton; her precious grandchildren, Allison Dickens of Greenville, SC and Anna and TJ Carswell of Lincolnton; sisters Lou Turner of Durham and Becky Lawing of Lincolnton; numerous cousins including special cousins Sallie Beam of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Dr. Titus Allen of Chapel Hill.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 S. Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
