Rosalie Jones Thomas, age 89, of 2904 River Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, April 14, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas was born May 21, 1926, in Johnston County, NC, to the late Walter Samuel and Lillian Denton Jones. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Thomas, and a brother, W.S. Jones, Jr.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Waters, of the home; two sons, Dean Thomas, and wife Beth, of Mt. Holly and Bill Thomas, and wife Christine, of Cherryville; one sister, Clara Johnson of Gastonia; one brother, Bobby Jones of Newport, NC; seven granddaughters; fifteen grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Elsie Jones of Smithfield, NC; and special friend, Betty Lykins of Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Marvin United Methodist Church Playground Fund, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
