Obituaries

Dorothy Mace Hedspeth, age 94, of Lincolnton died Sunday, April 24, 2016.

Her funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Hedspeth was born on January 2, 1922 in Lincoln County to the late Robert and Bertie Lee Mace. She was retired from the former J.P. Stevens, Co. and a member of Laboratory United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Mace, and three sisters, Geraldine Hallman, Maxine Alexander, and Rentha Barrett.

She is survived by her children, Jerry Hedspeth (Sybil) of Granite Falls, Karen Drum (Dwight) of Lincolnton; sister, Joyce Pope of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Scott Hedspeth of Granite Falls, Kevin Hedspeth (Robin) of Rockwell, Mark Hedspeth of Richmond, KY, Michelle Curran (Matt) of Alton, NH, Tonia Hallman (Bryan) of Crouse, Brian Drum (Heather) of Concord; seven great grandchildren, Tasha Hedspeth, Kelsey, Andrew  and Katie Hedspeth, Kathryn Curran, Katelyn Hallman, and Dalton Drum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092 or Laboratory United Methodist Church, 1850 Bill Lynch Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
