James Edward Weiss

Mr. James Edward Weiss, age 77, of 1231 Brookhaven Drive in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Lincolnton Church of God with Rev. Dr. Richard King officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Weiss was born August 11, 1938, in Princeton, WV, to the late Herman Edward and Flora Dorothy Parker Weiss. He served in the United States Marines and then later retired from Carolina Freight Carriers after 25 years. He loved his sports, racing, boxing, and football.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jones Weiss of the home; three daughters, Robin Jenkins, and husband Dale, of Lincolnton, Tracy Duncan, and husband John, of Iron Station, and Mandy Elmore, and husband Mark, of Vale; seven grandchildren, Jamie Bryant, Noah Jenkins, Noelle Heddle, Zach Avery, Gabe Duncan, Chloe Elmore, Keely Elmore; three great-grandchildren, Adrienne Bryant, Keira Bryant, and Alexia Baxter; and a sister, Melva Eddy, and husband Bill, of Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
