Carroll Dean Boyles
( August 14, 1934 - June 2, 2016 )
Mr. Carroll Dean Boyles, age 81, of Raleigh, and formerly of Morehead City, NC and Lincolnton, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Boyles was born August 14, 1934, in Vale, NC to the late Curtis Evan and Kate Lillian Scronce Boyles. Preceded in death by brothers: Howard, Weldon, Donald and Harlan; sisters: Pauline, Inez, Clara and baby girl; and his four-legged Best Buddy, “Booger.” He was the last surviving member out of nine children.
Mr. Boyles worked as Lincoln County Rabies Control Officer, Solid Waste Operations, NC Dept. of Transportation (Newton, NC), and NC Ports Authority (Morehead City, NC). He retired with 33 years of service in State and Local governments. He also served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Germany as an Air Police Officer. Lifelong member of Macedonia United Methodist Church in Vale, NC.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Hattie Sutton Boyles of the home; son Christopher C. Boyles of Raleigh; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Memorials may be made to either Macedonia United Methodist Church, 8099 Macedonia Church Road, Vale, NC 28168, or to the Humane Society of Lincoln County, PO Box 23, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
