Obituaries

George Wayne Hovis, age 67, of Salem Church Road, Lincolnton died Saturday, June 4, 2016.

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Chad Walker officiating.  Burial will follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at Warlick Funeral Home.

George was born on February 18, 1949 and was the son of the late W.J. and Gladys Saine Hovis.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Carroll Hovis, three sisters, Sarah Garrison, Betty Jean Hovis and Mary Jo Hovis was employed in the modular home business, was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and had a love of horses, vintage cars and especially his family.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Sain Hovis of the home; one son Jason Hovis and wife, Pam of Lincolnton; one brother, James E. Hovis of Lincolnton; two sisters, Ethel M. Hovis of Lincolnton and Patricia Hovis Hance of Lincolnton; two grandsons, Gabriel Hovis and William Hovis.
