John Wayne Morse, Sr.

John Wayne Morse, Sr., age 71, of 3570 Highway 27, East, Lincolnton, died on Saturday, June 4, 2016.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016, in the Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016.
Mr. Morse was born April 8, 1945, in Troy, NC, to the late Marvin Alexander and Kathleen Carner Morse. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Bill Morse, and one sister, Pat Stallings. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and then later was a seaman in the Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Alvarez Morse, of the home; a son, John Morse, II; one daughter, Kathleen Morse of Washington State; a brother, Harold Morse of Troy; and two step-daughters, Alexa Ikerd and Victoria Alvarez.
