Dean Forrest Ward

Mr. Dean Forrest Ward, age 77 of Lincolnton, died on Thursday, July 7, 2016.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016, at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Dean was born March 8, 1939, in Lincoln County, to the late James Forrest and Frances Loree McCaslin Ward. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son, Bryan Shane Ward, and a sister, Nelta Ward Barber. He served in the United States Navy during the Lebanon Crisis and then later worked in automotive parts sales.
He is survived by his wife, Saundra McAlister Ward of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Dean Ward, and Loren Kane Ward, and wife Brandy, of Lincolnton; a daughter, Wendy Ward McDaniel, and husband Kip, of Clayton, NC; two sisters, Inez Rhyne of Gastonia, and Faye Stroupe of Vale; and five grandchildren, Macy and Kamden Ward, and Kaylee, Ryan, and Dawson McDaniel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Backpack Ministry, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092, the Good Neighbor Shop, 116 S. Academy Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
