Obituaries
Jack Franklin Black, Sr., age 83, of 3537 Old Crouse School Road, Crouse died Saturday, August 20, 2016.
His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Leonards Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Jaie Warlick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Black was born on July 16, 1933 and was the son of the late Ephriam Logan and Mable Devine Black. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Blanche Smith Black, one son, Tony Black, seven brothers, one sister and two grandchildren. Mr. Black was retired after twenty-five years in the United States Army having served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was the owner of North Western Electric.
He is survived by five sons, Tim Black of Crouse, Jack Black, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Crouse, Harold Dean Black of Lincolnton, Michael Lee Black and wife, Tonya of Salisbury and David Benson Black and wife, Deanna of Crouse; one daughter, Connie B. Seagle and husband, Jeff of Cherryville; one daughter-in-law, Robin Black of Cherryville; two sisters, Lena Penley of Cherryville and Lola Whitesides and husband, Harold Dean of Lincolnton; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
