Obituaries

Larry Joe Elmore, age 75 of the Wexford House in Denver and formerly of West Pine Street in Lincolnton died Saturday, August 27, 2016.

A celebration of life memorial service will be 3:30p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 N. Highway 16, Denver, NC 28037. The family will receive friends from 2:00p.m.until 3:00p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Elmore was born January 14, 1941 in Lincoln County. He was the son of the late Vernon Fabius Elmore and Myrtle Pernell Finger Elmore. Joe served as a signalman in the US Navy. He was a graduate of Wingate College. Mr. Elmore served over 30 years as a program supervisor for the NC Correctional Department.

He is survived by a son, Patrick Kane Elmore and wife Byrony of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Cooper Davis Elmore and Collins Rae Elmore.
