Betty Abernethy Perkins

Betty Abernethy Perkins, age 84, of Brian Center in Gastonia, died on Sunday, September 11, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at First Christian Church with Rev. Kathy Naish officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Perkins was born June 23, 1932, in Lincoln County, to the late Hugh D. and Susie Campbell Abernethy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Perkins. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Meeks, and husband Walter, of Gastonia; a son, Sherman Perkins, and wife Teresa, of Lancaster, SC; a brother, Kenneth Abernethy of Greer, SC; four grandchildren, Lindsey Dover, and husband Donald, Ashley Perkins, and fiancé Michael, Amanda Fowler, and husband Jonathan, and Amber Dix, and husband Isaac; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund, 735 Buffalo Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
