Margaret Keener Childers

Margaret Keener Childers, age 91, of E. Rhodes Street in Lincolnton, died on Friday, October 7, 2016.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Little and Rev. Dr. Scott Schoffner officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Childers was born September 30, 1925, in Lincoln County, to the late Dorus Pinkey and Rachel Miller Keener. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Childers; two sisters, Ruthie Carroll and Maudell Hicks; and two brothers, Hal Keener and Robert Keener. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Childers of Lincolnton; a brother, Howard Keener of Lincolnton; a sister, Joann Houk McCarter of Crouse; two grandchildren, Keelan Childers, and wife Lynda, of Huntersville and Katelyn Childers of Cherryville.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Calvary Baptist Church, 493 Calvary Church Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
