Joyce Chastain Robinson

Joyce Chastain Robinson, age 82, of N. Laurel Street in Lincolnton, died on Saturday, December 31, 2016.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Banner Elk Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the church columbarium prior to the memorial service.
Mrs. Robinson was born July 20, 1934, in Gaston County, to the late William Clarence and Reba Hollifield Chastain. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jack Clayton Robinson. She worked as a teacher.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Robinson Abernethy, and husband Ralph, of Lincolnton; a son, William Cary Robinson, and wife Leslie, of Washington; two grandchildren, Megan Bimbo, and husband Steven, of Charlotte and Michael C. Lawing, and wife Lena, of Delray Beach, FL; and two great-grandchildren, Eloise Bimbo and Jack Lawing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Banner Elk Presbyterian Church, 420 College Drive, SW, Banner Elk, NC 28604.
