Tommy Alexander Dellinger
( September 28, 1942 - January 21, 2017 )
Tommy Alexander Dellinger, of Denver, went to his eternal home on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Hospice of Catawba Valley in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina. Tommy was born to the late Troy and Margaret Dellinger, of Denver, on September 28th 1942. Left to cherish his memory are; wife, Freda Dellinger of the home, brother Jerry and wife Rita of Denver, son Adam Dellinger and wife Lacie of Denver, son Alex Dellinger of Denver, daughter Amy Edwards and husband Greg of Sherrills Ford, daughter Angie Lagano and husband Brad of Charlotte, daughter Scottie Carpenter and husband Greg of Sherrills Ford, and son Nickie Lineberger and wife Carrie of Sherrills Ford, and 9 grandchildren.
Tommy was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church, in Denver, where he served his church family in many capacities throughout his life. Tommy was well known for his time in the supermarket industry as a “meat man” and was previously employed by Duke Energy for many years. Upon retirement, Tommy’s focus shifted toward his work sponsoring and mentoring people overcoming hardships and addiction. Tommy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor.
Visitation for Mr. Dellinger will take place at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton, NC on Monday, January 23rd from 6:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at 11:00 am at Bethel United Methodist Church in Denver, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, Attn.: Susan Sherrill, 7925 Barkley Road, Sherrills Ford, NC 28673.
