H.H. Tish, Jr.
( June 2, 1941 - March 12, 2017 )
H.H. Tish, Jr. (Bert), of Lincolnton, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his residence.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Emanuel Reformed Church of Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
He was born 2 June 1941 in Mecklenburg County to the late Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Tish, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby sister, Joyce T. Jones.
Mr. Bert never met a stranger. He loved God and everyone he met. His love was getting out and working on old cars. Give him a sheet of metal and a hammer and he was so happy. He loved his church, life, and his wife. On Saturday’s he enjoyed riding to the mountains. He loved his children more than they could even imagine, all his children, whether they were blood or not, and he was good to all of them. He had children of all races and they all knew he loved them.
He was a proud veteran, Petty Officer 3rd Class, honorably discharged after 17-1/2 years. He always said if they called him today, he would go back and do it again.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 23 years, Kathy N. Tish of the home; son H.H. Tish, III (Regina); daughters Roxie Tish (Ronnie Darnell), Tory Campbell, Julie Bumgarner (Luis Garcia), Heather Tish; son, Bryson Brooks (Brytni); grandchildren, Krys Swartz (Dale Wilcox), Jessica Diegert (Matthew), Nikolaos K. Tish (Jessica), Kimberly Montecalvo (Ron), Emily T. Piotrowski (Joshua), Corey White, Rea Campbell, Daniel Davila, Samuel Davila; great-grandchildren, Kairi Diegert, Madi Grigsby, Holden Diegert, Ashton Brooks, Landon Diegert, Brantley Montecalvao, Kasy Brooks; brother, Ralph E. Tish (Lynda); sister, Frances T. Whitaker (Dale); and family canine companion, “Gabby.”
