Obituaries

Helen Louise Abernathy Hager, age 89, of  Denver died Sunday, April 2, 2017.

Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Lebanon United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Harris and Rev. Derek Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hager was born on July 11, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Major Franklin and Myrtle Bellzova McAlister Abernathy.  She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline Abernathy, Marie Abernathy, Margaret Brooks and Elizabeth Abernathy.

Mrs. Hager is survived by her husband, Elliotte “Bob” Hager of the home; two sons, Stephen Hager (Dianne) of Sherrills Ford and Douglas Hager (Sandra) of Denver; three brothers, Wayne Abernathy of Maiden, Frank Abernathy (Linda) of Lowell and Harold Abernathy of Denver; five sisters, Ruth Fraley of Stanley, Pansy Jonas (Bud) of Stanley, Martha Owenby of Maiden, Sue Medlin of Newton and Faye Pope (Howard) of Denver; seven grandchildren, Amanda Moore, Shelley Dellinger, Allison Romeo, Jason Hager, Angie Roley, Roger Hager and April Hager; eleven great-grandchildren, Caleb Warren, Ethan Warren, Clara Grace Dellinger, Elliott Dellinger, Lucy Dellinger, Elizabeth Romeo, Jacob Hager, Liberty Hager, Savannah Roley, William Moore and J.C. Owens.
