Clyde Lee "Buster" Knight, Jr.

Mr. Clyde Lee “Buster” Knight, Jr., age 92, of N. Flint Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, April 2, 2017.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with DAV military rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Knight was born April 19, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late Clyde L. Knight, Sr. and Edith Stamey Knight. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Kate Ewing Knight; and three sisters, Hazel Knight, Sybil Coffey, and Lurlene Shinn. He was a member of the Lincolnton High School football team, proud World War II veteran having served in the South Pacific, and retired from Duke Power.
He is survived by sons, Lee Knight, and wife Kathy, and Zane Knight, and wife Donna, all of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Katie Knight, Elizabeth Carpenter, Sarah Ross, John Daugherty, Beth Medlin, and Amber Miller; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 900 Dontia Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to First Baptist Church, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
