David Lee Ballard
( January 15, 1932 - April 6, 2017 )
Mr. David Lee Ballard, age 85, of Carillon Assisted Living in Lincolnton and formerly of Iron Station, died on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Iron Station Cemetery with Rev. John Mann officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Warlick Funeral Home prior to the graveside.
Mr. Ballard was born January 15, 1932, in Lincoln County, to the late James Edgar and Delcia Sneed Ballard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Mosteller Ballard and his first wife, and Doug’s mom, LaVerne Ballard; and two brothers, Bobby Ballard and Ronnie “Eddie” Ballard. Mr. Ballard was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Venture Packaging in Charlotte.
He is survived by his son, Doug Ballard and wife Debi of Lincolnton; his grandson, Kenan David Ballard of Lincolnton; two brothers, Donald Ballard and wife Jean of Lincolnton and Bill Ballard and wife Carolyn of Lincolnton. Also surviving Mr. Ballard are Jackie’s family, Brady “Buddy” Hoffman, Bobby Hoffman, Rodney Hoffman, Lynette H. Friday, Denise H. Cooper, Karen Hoffman, Shelley H. Rader, and their families.
