Harold Stephen Heavner
( March 25, 1954 - April 9, 2017 )
Harold Stephen Heavner, 63, entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 9, 2017.
A service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Tommy Lineberger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be prior to worship at 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
Steve was born on March 25, 1954, to Jonnie Sain Heavner and the late Harold Dean Heavner. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Turner Heavner; infant sister, Deborah Rae Heavner; and also a brother, Mark Heavner. Steve graduated from Appalachian State University and worked as a driver’s license examiner until his retirement in December. He recently retired and enjoyed watching sports, especially his beloved UNC Tarheels. Steve was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved all things musical and was a member of the Trinity choir, assistant organist, and a member of Men in Mission.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Jonnie Sain Heavner; aunts Julia and Jane Heavner ; Uncle Carroll and Aunt Mary Heavner. Steve is also survived by nephew, John Heavner, niece Sara Jane Heavner, and their mother, Susan Heavner; cousins, Gene Heavner, Nancy Price, Caroline Powell, Jeff Heavner, and Brandon and Hayden Heavner; brother-in-law Greg Turner (Stacy), and nieces Laura and Ashley Turner.
