Obituaries

Martha Rash Ellis of Lincolnton, died on Friday, April 28, 2017.  She was 93.

Mrs. Ellis was born February 3, 1924, in Lincoln County, to the late Alton and Josie Mosteller  Rash. She was a loving wife to Clyde Glenn Ellis and they were married for 66 years. Martha and Glenn enjoyed traveling and spent the winters in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. She was active in the community and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lincolnton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde “Glenn” Ellis.

Martha was a devoted Mother to her four children, Deane Ellis King (Richard) of Anderson, SC, Roger Glenn Ellis (Sherry) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Debbie Ellis Smith of Lincolnton, NC and Sheila Ellis Richard (Mike) of Lincolnton, NC. Affectionately known as “Nana”, she is survived by her seven grandchildren, Jason Ellis, Betsy Powell, Meg Carpenter, Rich King, Holly Cox, Lauren Gates, and Shelly Crouse; fourteen great grandchildren

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
