Obituaries

Mr. Benny Louis Rogers, Sr., age 73, of  Iron Station died Saturday, May 6, 2017.

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with DAV rites.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Rogers was born on October 7, 1943 and was the son of the late John Bill Rogers and Clara Dell Mason Rogers.  He retired after 30 years with IBM as a new product developer.  After retirement, he worked as a self- employed general contractor. Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Lola of the home; one daughter, Shelia Lewis of Mississippi; one son, Benny Rogers, Jr. of Lincolnton; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Wilcox, Evan Rogers, Hailey Rogers, Riley Rogers, Dylan Rogers, Zachary Lewis and Raven Lewis; one brother, Larry Rogers of Kentucky; two sisters, Lucille Depew and husband, Melvin of Kentucky and Eva Rose Watts and husband, Marion of Kentucky.
