Donald Glenn Ritchie

Donald Glenn Ritchie, age 81, of Iron Station, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 27, 2017.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, in the Alexis Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Scott Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. at Alexis Baptist Church.
Mr. Ritchie was born January 25, 1936, in Lincoln County, to the late Luther G. and Lucy Long Ritchie. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patty Ritchie. He served in the United States Army and later retired from Duke Energy.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hoover Ritchie of the home; a daughter, Glenda R. Mauney, and husband Paul, of Iron Station; two brothers, Neal Ritchie, and wife Pat, and Ray Ritchie, and wife Robin, all of Iron Station; one grandson, Christopher Mauney, and wife Hilary, of Holly Springs, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Linden Mauney and Lane Mauney.
Memorials may be made to the South Fork Baptist Association, for the handicapped ramp fund, 2261 Laboratory Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
