Douglas Hugh Hager
( February 16, 1950 - July 31, 2017 )
Mr. Douglas Hugh Hager, age 67, of Campground Road in Denver, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Arnold Douthit and Rev. Larry Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Hager was born February 16, 1950, in Gaston County, to Elliott Boone Hager and the late Helen Abernathy Hager. He retired from Duke Energy where he worked as an electrician. He also had retired from the Denver Fire Department where he was a volunteer fireman.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Brandon Hager of the home; his children, Jason Hager, and wife Dana, of Leesburg, GA, Angelia Roley of Bay Minette, AL, Roger Hager, and wife Velvet, of Denver, and April Hager of the home; his father, Elliott Hager of Sherrills Ford; a brother, Steve Hager, and wife Dianne, of Sherrills Ford; and four grandchildren, Savannah Roley, Jake Hager, Liberty Hager, and J.C. Hager.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DFL Ministry of Mountain View Baptist Church, 5045 E. Maiden Road, Maiden, NC 28650.
