Barbara Jo Higgins Bennett
( August 6, 1946 - August 9, 2017 )
Barbara Jo Bennett, age 71, of W. Highway 150 in Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Devine officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born August 6, 1946, in Erwin, Tennessee, to the late Harley and Maude Higgins. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church of Salem, South Carolina, for 45 years. Barbara spent her life as a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Angela Jo Rector; sisters, Charlotte Townsend and Tammy Metcalf; and brother, Bud Higgins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Richard Glenn Bennett, Sr.; sons, Richard Glenn Bennett, Jr. , and wife Sandra, of Snow Camp, NC, and Earl Grady Bennett of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Keisha Carpenter, Dana Driscoll, David Rector, Jeffery Bennett, Brandon Rudisill, and Josh Kirby; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care and Hospice nurses, neighbors, friends, and Roseland Baptist Church for their support and prayers during Barbara’s illness.
