Rodney James Childers, age 56, of 337 Buffalo Shoals Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, August 6, 2017.
He was born January 29, 1961, in Fort Rucker, Alabama, to the late Sherman and Peggy Cooke Childers Yarborough. He worked for R & L homes as a welder.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Cash Childers of the home; two sons, Brian Lee Childers and Michael Kale Childers; seven brothers, Wynn Childers, and wife Della, Bruce Childers, and wife Janet, Steve Childers, and wife Pam, Wyman Childers, and wife Peg, Donnie Arthurs, Bill Childers, and wife Erin, and Chip Childers, and wife Christina; two sisters, Marion “Tricky” Black and Wynona Phillips, and Brian; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Laboratory United Methodist Church.
