Hazel Mae Cantrell Gibby

Hazel Mae Cantrell Gibby, age 97, of Peak Resources in Gastonia died Saturday, October 14, 2017.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Lincolnton Church of God with Pastor Bobby Killman officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Gibby was born on May 8, 1920 and was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Hensley Cantrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Preston Gibby, one daughter, Nina Montez Gibby, three brothers, Marshall, Newell and her twin, Gordon; three sisters, Myrtle, Maudie and Hattie; three grandsons, Curtis Gause, Timothy Gibby and Tony Lynn Madden; one granddaughter, Demetria Gibson and daughter-in-law, Lois Gibby. Her life was totally devoted to serving the Lord. She was a tremendous musician and singer. Mrs. Gibby took her children to church when she had to depend on the Lord to provide a way to get there. She taught her children to sing and they faithfully worked for the Lord.
She is survived by one son, Floyd Gibby of Lincolnton; two daughters, Joyce Gibby of Gastonia and Lois Killman and husband, Bobby of Pryor, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
