Robert Alberta Miller
( July 30, 1929 - October 17, 2017 )
Robert Alberta Miller, age 88, of East Maiden Road in Maiden, died on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
His funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Iron Station United Methodist Church with Rev. David Wyant officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Miller was born July 30, 1929, in Lincoln County, to the late John Ams Miller and Rebecca Smyre Miller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Nantz Miller, and siblings John Alvin Miller and Marie Karjalahti. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After the military, he worked in plumbing with Tommy Shrum, and then later at JP Stevens in Stanley, and Mohican Mills in Lincolnton, before retiring.
He is survived by a son, Tony Robinson, and wife Melanie, of Boger City, NC; two daughters, Karen M. Stallings, and husband Greg of Maiden, and Sandi R. Armstrong of Lincolnton; one sister, Jean M. Fisher, and husband Jim, of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, Antony Robinson, Makale Miller, AO William Tyler Miller, USN, Savannah Stallings, Amber Stallings, CJ Barnes, Greg Hunt, Lina Wilmoth, Sunny Armstrong Reeves, Kyra Norwood Valadie’; a number of great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Patty Sue Nantz, Murial Nantz, and Peggy N. Wilkinson, all of Iron Station; and his beloved fur babies.
