Obituaries

Gail Gaffney Eaker, age 83, of 956 Bailey Springs Drive, Lincolnton died Saturday, October 21, 2017.

A private graveside service will be held at Hollybrook Cemetery.

Mrs. Eaker was born on December 19, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Sidney and Ethelene McGinnis Gaffney.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James David Eaker, Sr. and one brother and one sister. Mrs. Eaker was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, James David Eaker, Jr. and wife Elaine of Lincolnton; two daughters, Gwen Ballard of Lawndale and Rhona Eaker Cathey and husband, Rick of Weaverville, NC ; six grandchildren, Jeff Lawing, Kyle Ballard, Kristy Edwards, David Bradley, Darren Eaker and Tiffany Eaker; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-granchildren.
