Rosie Tessner Spencer

Rosie Tessner Spencer, of Roseland Drive in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Luke Johnson and Josh Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Spencer was born in Alexander County, to the late Julius and Eva Spencer Tessner. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant son, Wade Randall Spencer; a brother, J.T. Tessner; and four sisters, Bertha Leatherman, Lottie Milburn, Nettie Jarrell, and Catherine Taylor. She worked as a clothing inspector.
She is survived by her husband, L.J. Spencer of Lincolnton; two daughters, Gale Spencer Elmore, and husband Jeff, of Shelby, and Lynn Spencer Smith and Brad, of Lincolnton; granddaughter, Roxanne Gale Cogdill, and husband Michael; grandson,Bradley Cole Smith, and wife Tearsha; and twin infant great-grandbabies, Edith Rose and Tessa Lavonne Cogdill; ten nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Highland Drive Freewill Baptist Church, 2810 Highland Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
