Robert Edgar Goins

Robert Edgar Goins, age 87, of Church Street in High Shoals, died on Thursday, November 23, 2017.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Long Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Ingle officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Goins was born September 29, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Cannie Edgar and Ruth Yount Goins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters; three brothers; his first wife Katherine; a son Robert E. Goins, Jr.; a grandson Robby Goins; and one step-granddaughter, Angie Morrison. He worked in textiles.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Setzer Cloninger Goins of the home; a son, Tim Goins, and wife Rene’, of Lincolnton; a daughter-in-law, Karen Goins; two step-daughters, Jill Cloninger Culberson and Linda Ingle Jones; two step-sons, Rev. Charles Ingle, and wife Mildred, and Randy Ingle, and wife Ann; grandchildren, Drew Goins and Chalee Goins Chance; step-grandchildren, Jon Culberson, Wesley Culberson, Mark Ingle, Mike Ingle, Kathy Walters, Terri Houk, and Kristie Surbeck; three great-grandchildren; and sixteen step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Long Shoals Baptist Church, School House renovation Fund, 2988 Long Shoals Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
