Obituaries

Mr. Charles M. Spivey, age 78, of Lincolnton died on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Rhodes officiating.  Burial will follow in Coral Park Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Spivey was born September 9, 1939 in Lincoln County to the late Jesse Erastus and Fannie Reynolds Spivey.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chasity Spivey and a great granddaughter, Taylor Peyton and one sister, Elvie Reinhardt.  Mr. Spivey worked at It’s Grill earlier in life.  He then owned and operated the 321 Mini Mart and later worked at R & F Frames. 

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Waldrop Spivey of the home; one son, Barry Spivey and wife, Denise of Maiden; two daughters, Tina Spivey Tindall and companion, Scott Burnham of Lincolnton and Caroline Spivey Hollar and fiancé, Andy Evans of Lincolnton; one brother, David Spivey of Maiden; six grandchildren, Will Lane and wife, Heather, Amy Kiser and husband, Jason, Brad Lane and wife, Lisa, Charity Spivey, Justin Beard and fiancé, Kelly Hamby and Wesley Beard; eight great- grandchildren.
