Obituaries

Mrs. Yvonne Keener Leatherman, age 82, of 6476 Sain Milling Road, Vale died Saturday, December 16, 2017.

Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:45 a.m. until 12: 45 p.m. Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home.

Mrs. Leatherman was born August 5, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen Eurey Keener.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lewis Leatherman, a daughter, Peggy Leatherman Thurman , two brothers, Charles Andrew Keener and David Keener, a sister, Mary Ruth Keener Greene and a grandson, Sgt. Bryan McCabe.  Mrs. Leatherman was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Lewis Leatherman and wife, Joann of Spring Hill TN and Johnny Lawrence Leatherman and wife, Lauren of Vale; one sister, Geraldine Crowe of Lincolnton; two brothers, Milton Keener of Lincolnton and Marvin Keener of Alexis; four grandchildren, Holly Gilliam and husband, Doug, Robert Leatherman ,  JoAnna Leatherman and Candice McCabe; nine great –grandchildren,  R.J. Gilliam, Melody Leatherman, Brett Leatherman, Helena Leatherman, Chance Leatherman, Chris Leatherman, Aliza McCabe,  Layla Leatherman and Thomas McCabe.
