Obituaries

Ruby Kelly Swink Leatherman, age 63, of Hamlet Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, December 17, 2017.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Glenn Roseman officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:45 p.m. on Thursday in the Family Life Center of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Ruby was born January 20, 1954, in Cleveland County, to the late James Henry and Flossie Tallent Swink.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.  She worked at Carillon Assisted Living. 

She is survived by a daughter, Regina Gibson, and husband David, of Lincolnton; step-daughter, Christell Hanson of Nevada; two brothers, James Junior Swink of Lawndale and Ronnie Tallent of Texas; three sisters, Pauline Swink and Ruth Swink, both of Lawndale, and Minnie Jenkins of Lincolnton; grandson, Brandon Rinehardt of Lincolnton; and step-grandson, Donnie Pennington, of Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church “Family Life Center”, 4051 King Wilkinson Road, Lincolnton, NC  28092.
