Obituaries

Mr. Loyd Bryan Ayers, age 55 of Timberlane Drive in Lincolnton, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017.

His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Long Shoals Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jon Mann and Rev. Butch Ross officiating.  Burial will follow in Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:30 until 1:45 prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Ayers was born April 16, 1962 in Union County, SC to the late Loyd Clinton Ayers.  He worked at corporate sales with the United States Postal Service.  Mr. Ayers was a graduate of West Lincoln High School.  He also attended and played football for Western Carolina University.  Mr. Ayers was a longtime member of Long Shoals Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Stiles Ayers of the home; one son, Jacob Loyd Ayers and partner Cristhian of Hickory; one daughter, Brittany Ayers Buff and husband Richard of Lincolnton; one brother, Phillip Ayers and wife Dana; one sister, Kristi Montgomery and husband Rick of Denver; mother, Phyllis Pruett Ayers of Lincolnton; grandsons, Maxwell Bryan Buff of Lincolnton and Pate Alan Leatherman of Lincolnton and many relatives in the Buncombe County area.
