Rodney Elmore Warren
( November 11, 1940 - January 3, 2018 )
Rodney Elmore Warren, age 77, of Brookwood Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Boger City Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Bigham and Rev. Robert Redding officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:15 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Warren was born November 11, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late Robert Pete and Hazeline Poovey Warren. He worked as a district sales manager for Hastings Manufacturing, and for 25 years with NAPA in Charlotte. Rodney was a lifelong member of Boger City Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and numerous committees.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Mundy “Penny” Warren of the home; two sons, Michael Warren, and wife Gail, of Indian Beach, NC, and Matthew Warren, and wife Laura, of Cherryville; one brother, Bill Warren, and wife Kay, of Lincolnton; his mother, Hazeline Poovey Warren of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Kynleigh Warren and Caleb Warren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boger City Baptist Church Building Fund, 2201 E. Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
