Jacob Jenkins Wyckoff, Jr.

Jacob Jenkins Wyckoff, Jr., age 95, of Battleground Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, January 8, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. in the North wing of the church.
Mr. Wyckoff was born December 5, 1922, in Lincoln County, to the late Jacob J. Wyckoff, Sr. and Alice McConnell Wyckoff. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, and the mother of his children, Gladys Boyd Wyckoff; later, Sudie Gilbert Dellinger Wyckoff; and a brother, William Lee Wyckoff. Jacob served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He retired from the United States Postal Service.
He is survived by two sons, Robert E. Wyckoff, and wife Renee, of Lincolnton, and William Jacob Wyckoff of Lincolnton; one daughter, Patricia Hampton, and husband David, of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 216 S. Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092, or to Robin Johnson Hospice House, c/o Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
