Hugh Lee Waters

Hugh Lee Waters, age 93, of River Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, February 1, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amy Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Waters was born May 31, 1924, in Cleveland County, to the late W.M. and Mary Logan Waters. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Hubbard Waters; a son, Edward Waters; brothers, Gene Waters and Buford Waters; and a sister, Edrice Holloway. He served in the United States Army during World War II and then later was a farmer.
Left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Rita Kistler, and husband Bill, of Lincolnton; a son, Roger Waters, and wife Karen, of Lincolnton; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Waters; two sisters, Edna Wease of Lincolnton and Ruby Stegall of Marshville; five grandchildren, Bill Kistler, Hollie Black, Amy Houser, Heather Lynch, and Temperance Lykins; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marvin United Methodist Church Playground Fund, 2731 Startown Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
