John Lewis Carswell

John “Pete” Lewis Carswell, age 85, of Barbrick Street in Sherrills Ford, died on Sunday, February 11, 2018.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug McClain officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
“Pete” was born April 8, 1932, in Lincoln County, to the late William Russell Carswell and Bonnie Lewis Carswell. He served in the United States Army and then later was a car dealer.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hastings Carswell of the home; and three daughters, Amy Willis, and husband Tommy, of Charleston, SC, Robin McNamara, and husband Jack, of Charlotte, and Cathy Reis of California; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Carswell of Denver; a brother, Ronnie Carswell of Denver; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 Northwest 9th Avenue, Miami, FL 33136, or to High Shoals Baptist Church, PO Box 37, High Shoals, NC 28077.
