James Franklin White

James Franklin White, age 81, of Gastonia Highway in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Timothy Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.
Mr. White was born July 27, 1936, in Lincoln County, to the late Grady Andrew and Pearl Hoyle White. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Caitlyn White. He served in the United States Army and then worked as an electrician for 40 years. After retirement, he owned White’s Handcrafted Furniture.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene Avery White of the home; a son, James Alan White, and wife Lessie, of Locust; a daughter, Peggy Atkinson, and husband Tim, of Sanford, NC; a brother, Grady Lee White, and wife Ann, of Gastonia; five grandchildren, John Atkinson, and wife Kait, Joshua Atkinson, Chelsea Hathcock, and husband Justin, Celia Ferguson, and husband Darren, and Cody White; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Christian Center, 15825 Marvin Road, Charlotte, NC 28277, and designated for the building fund.
