Madge Caldwell Ballard

Madge Caldwell Ballard, age 90 of Amity Church Road in Iron Station, died on Thursday, March 22, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Amity Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Mountain View Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ballard was born June 28, 1927, in Catawba County, to the late Clinton and Minnie Abernathy Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ballard; five brothers, Bernard Caldwell, Eugene Caldwell, Page Caldwell, Wyley Caldwell, and Cecil Caldwell; and a sister, Eveylena Isenhour. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by a son, Rodney Ballard, and wife Cathy, of Iron Station; a daughter, Cindy Ballard of Iron Station; a sister, Virginia Estes of Newton; four grandchildren, Somer Fortenberry, and husband Craig, and children Noah, Joshua and Allie Kate of Iron Station, Casey Bridges, and husband Samuel, and children Cooper and Ansley of Iron Station, Mallory Barrett, and husband Brian, and child Skyler of Lincolnton, and Jacob Ballard, and wife Christen, of Winston-Salem; two sisters-in-law, Faye Caldwell of Newton and Maude Caldwell of Hickory; brother-in-law, Samuel Ballard of Maiden; and extended loving family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
