Peggy Gilbert Reynolds
( December 8, 1933 - March 25, 2018 )
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Mrs. Peggy Gilbert Reynolds, age 84, of Lincolnton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
Mrs. Reynolds was born December 8, 1933, in Lincolnton, to the late Forest Sydney Gilbert and Bertha Ethel Rudisill Gilbert. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband James Pinkney Reynolds; daughter Sherry Chapman; daughter-in-law Betty Fredell Reynolds; and sister Christine Hovis. She worked in textiles for over 40 years.
Mrs. Reynolds (Peggy) enjoyed spending time with family. She was a wonderful cook, renowned for her potato salad and pinto beans. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and exercising her green thumb, and she made beautiful floral arrangements. She loved to travel, as long as it didn’t involve a boat or plane ride. She joined her husband, children, and grandchildren on many adventures all over the US and even to Mexico and Canada. Peggy walked closely with the Lord and leaves behind her a legacy of faith. She covered her family with prayer. She was a true blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three sons, Terry Reynolds and Gary Reynolds (Betty), all of Lincolnton, and Rusty Reynolds (Donna) of Greensboro; son-in-law Gary Chapman of Lincolnton; two sisters, Shirley Hawkins and Rachel Jones of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren, Chad Reynolds (Karla), Amiee Stockton (Jeremy), Brandie Reynolds, Tommy Chapman (Lesley), Shelley Butler (Shawn), Travis Reynolds (Kristen), Hannah Reynolds, and Michaela Reynolds; six great-grandchildren, Carson Chapman, James, Garrett, and Reid Butler, and Blakely and Ada Reynolds; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 27 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Warlick Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 28 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.
