David Edward "Eddie" Mincey
( May 20, 1951 - April 24, 2018 )
David Edward “Eddie” Mincey, age 66, of Blossom Hill Road in Lincolnton, went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, with his loving family by his bedside.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Gainsville Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael White and Rev. Barry Devine officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Eddie was born May 20, 1951, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Floyd and Mary Lee Kiser Mincey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Mace, and a brother, Larry Mincey. Eddie loved his family, he loved Jesus and serving in his church. He was known as the “Buckmaster” because of his love of hunting and also fishing. Eddie worked as a builder and passed along the trade and a love for the outdoors to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Martin Mincey of the home; his children, Angela Dawn Mincey, David Edward Mincey, II (Shannon), Martin Lee Mincey (Amber); grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Landyn Mincey, Rachel Mincey, Quaid Mincey, and Blake Mincey; siblings, Patricia Carpenter, Joy Smith (Rick), and Libby Ellis (Terry); and numerous nieces and nephews.
