Nancy Leatherman Davis
( June 29, 1931 - May 2, 2018 )
Nancy Leatherman Davis, age 86, of the Brian Center, and formerly of Hillside Drive in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born June 29, 1931, in Lincoln County, to the late Lawrence F. and Annie White Leatherman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Van Dorman Davis, Sr.; a grandson, Van Dorman Davis, III; and siblings, Louise Barkley, Jim Leatherman, John Leatherman, Bill Leatherman, and Charles “Bud” Leatherman.
She is survived by four sons, Van D. Davis, Jr., and wife Terry, of Iron Station, Glenn Davis, and wife Linda, of Lincolnton, Jerry L. Sain, and wife Becky, of Shelby, and Terry J. Sain of Lincolnton; two daughters, Vanessa Davis Hovis, and husband Marcus, of Salisbury, and Amy Davis Brown, and husband Billy, of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren, Aaron Brown, Allison Brown, Meredith Hovis, Jessica D. Whitehead, Ashley Davis, Lindsey D. Perry, Jonathan Sain, Tiffany Sain, and Matthew Sain; four great-grandchildren, Allie Sain, Johnny Sain, Ryleigh Perry, and Maddie Perry; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Stained Glass Fund, 216 S. Aspen Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
