Obituaries

William “Willie” Carl Thompson, age 61, of 336 Tradewinds Lane, York, SC passed away Friday, May 25, 2018.

His funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2018 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Bess Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Monday prior to the service at Warlick Funeral Home.

Willie was born on May 3, 1957 in Cleveland County.  For the past 5 years Willie battled leukemia. He was provided loving care by his sister Debbie and her husband Casey, with whom he made his home.

Mr. Thompson is survived by two sons, William Carl Thompson, Jr. of Sevierville, TN and William Kyle Thompson of Gaffney, SC; two daughters, Tanya Fay Whetze and husband, Richard of Martinsburg, WVA, and Tiffany Brooke Gibson of Gaffney, SC; his parents, Fred and Dorothy Oaks Thompson of Summerville, SC; two brothers, Fred Douglas Thompson of Casar, NC and Dwayne Thompson of Forest City, NC; two sisters, Norma Thompson of Summerville, SC and Debbie Wieland and husband, Casey of York, SC; fourteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
