Obituaries

Nellie Sue (Leonard) Stroud passed away June 29, 2018 in Lawrenceville, GA.  She was born March 12, 1926 in Lincoln County to the late Oscar and Alice Leonard of Vale.  She lived in Lincolnton until she, her husband Joe, and 3 children moved to Charlotte where they lived and raised 4 children.  She returned to Lincolnton with Joe when he retired in 1985.

Nellie was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joe, her father and mother, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.  She is survived by her sons Eddie (Anne) Stroud, Donald (Kenneth) Stroud, Gary (Diane) Stroud and daughter Claudia (Gene) Dickens; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a number of  nieces, nephews and one brother-in-law, Thomas Brown.

Her funeral will be Tuesday, July 3rd at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton, NC.  The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with the  service to follow at 11 a.m. in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel.  Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn West in Charlotte, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harvest Presbyterian PCA Church, 707 Lithia Inn Rd., Lincolnton, NC 28092.
