Obituaries

Rev. Sylvester Ervin Charles, Sr. and Mother Agnes Geraldine Charles, age 76 and 74 died peacefully in love on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at their home on Horseshoe Lake Road in Lincolnton.

Rev. Charles, Sr. was born August 26, 1942 son of the late Izell Charles and Mildred Hopper Charles. Mrs. Agnes Charles was born June 16, 1944 daughter of the late Johnnie McRavion and Carrie Reinhardt McRavion. The couple were wonderful parents and enjoyed life together and especially their gardening skills.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church. Quiet time will begin 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will follow in the Frances Danner Memorial Park.

Survivors include sons, Baron “Bunky” Charles, Sr. of Lincolnton, Sylvester Ervin Charles, Jr. of Texas, Mzee Nkosi of New York, Kerry Charles of Lincolnton, James Anthony Charles of Kings Mtn., Benjamin Charles of Hickory; daughters,  Sandie J. Charles of Lincolnton, Tiffany C. Young of Lincolnton, baby daughter; Nola “Snowflake” Charles of Lincolnton;  special son, Joe A. Williams of Statesville and special daughter, Arnetta Cooke of York, SC.
