James Franklin Hines

James Franklin “Frank” Hines, age 77, of South Cedar Street in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At all other times, the family will be at the home of Gary and Susie Martin, 3315 E. Highway 27 in Lincolnton.
Frank was born October 26, 1940, in Lincoln County, to the late James Henry “Bill” Hines and Ruth Adams Hines. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Saine Hines; two brothers, John Emmit Hines and Charles Eugene Hines; and a brother-in-law, Dale Houser. He served in the United States Air Force for twenty-one years, and then later worked as a computer programmer.
He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Jane Doherty, and husband Phil, of England, and Jackie Ellis, and husband Tim, of Lincolnton; a son, Shannon Touhy, and wife Rita, of Cherryville; three sisters, Patricia Ballard, and husband Clayton, Susie Martin, and husband Gary, and Lucy Houser, all of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Whitney Mullen, Zachary Ellis, Pearl Doherty, and LuLu Doherty; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend, his canine Andy.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln County Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans, 704 E. Main Street, Cherryville, NC 28021, or to the Lincoln County Humane Society, PO Box 23, Lincolnton, NC 28093.
