Charles Iverson Putnam, age 90, of 1531 Null Road, Lincolnton died Saturday, August 11, 2018.
His funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Maiden Church of God with Rev. Jeff Goudelock officiating. His body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Putnam was born on June 13, 1928 and was the son of the late Isiah Iverson and Rosa Lee Dellinger Putnam. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Michael Putnam, great-grandson, Landon Putnam; one sister, Gertrude Martin; three brothers, Clarence Putnam, Cecil Putnam and Harold Putnam. Mr. Putnam retired as a supervisor for Delta Apparel, formerly Maiden Knitting and Duckhead.
He is survived by one son, Randy Putnam and wife, Debra of Vale; one daughter, Melisa Groves and husband, Lee of Dallas, NC; eight grandchildren, Tara Putnam, Jacob Putnam, Noble Putnam, James Robert Jarrett and wife, Charlye, Paula Heustess and husband, Seth, Judy Gantt and husband, Eric, Robert Lee Jarrett, Tonda Ware, Joey Groves, Maria Pridgen and husband, David; great-grandchildren, Madison Shirley, Adalee and Emilee Heustess, Sallie and Henry Jarrett, Matthew, Alex and Cameron Ware, Savannah Frank and Dakota Pridgen; numerous nieces and nephews.
