Obituaries

Douglas Theodore Stone, age 79, of Crystal Court, Lincolnton died Saturday, August 18, 2018.

His funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Meg Gaston and Rev. Earlynne Barkley officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Stone was born on May 11, 1939 and was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Alieen Hardin Stone.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Stone and Nell Malcolm and three brothers, Howard Stone, David Stone and Barnes Stone.  Mr. Stone was retired as a supervisor in the textile industry.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Stone of the home; one son, Lynn Stone and wife, Tammy of Ellenboro, NC; two daughters, Shasta Wilson of Lincolnton and Jody Stone of Lincolnton; one sister, Elsie Smith of SC; sister-in-law, Brenda Stone of Smithfield, NC; brother-in-law, Ed Haynes and wife, Vanessa of Iron Station; son-in-law, Chris Wilson of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Heather Wilson, Samantha Wilson and Addison Stone.
